The X Movement is a church planting, disciple making movement. One of our goals is to saturate every community in Coastal Bend Region with a reproducing church. We do this by:
• mobilizing multiplying leaders who start spiritual small groups.
• these spiritual small groups form the foundation for the start of new churches.
We are already gathering for public worship in Corpus Christi, Sundays @ 12:30 PM. We meet at Quiet Time Ministries, 4204 Kostoryz Rd., Corpus Christi, 78415. The name of our Corpus Christi church is Ekklesia.
Starting August 1, 2010 will will begin a second church in Kingsville, Sundays @ 11:00 AM. We will meet at Pure Platinum Gym (in the Aerobics Center), 316 S. 6th St., Kingsville, TX 78363. The name of our Kingsville church is Spiritual Fitness.
October 10, 2010
Right now we are in what is called the Pre-Launch Phase, which means we are building a core group of volunteers to help launch both of these two new churches on 10.10.10. If you live near either of these two Texas cities we invite you to be part of this great work. You can call our main number at 361-779-3707. Or, if you would like to communicate with Bob, you can email him at: bgomez@xmovement.net.
FULFILLING YOUR PURPOSE
A movement is defined as the spontaneous multiplication of new disciples and congregations (IMB). That is what The X Movement is - a disciple-producing, church planting movement. Jesus had twelve disciples, he poured his life into them, and then left his work on earth in their hands. Every follower of Christ is called to continue that same legacy of making disciples.
At The X Movement we don't start churches to make disciples… we make disciples who will help plant churches. Tim Keller has written these insightful words about church planting.
"The greatest missionary in history, St.Paul, had a rather simple, two-fold strategy. First, he went into the largest city of the region (cf. Acts 16:9,12), and second, he planted churches in each city (cf. Titus 1:5- “appoint elders in every town”). Once Paul had done that, he could say that he had ‘fully preached’ the gospel in a region and that he had ‘no more work’ to do there (cf. Romans 15:19,23). This means Paul had two controlling assumptions: a) that the way to most permanently influence a country was through its chief cities, and b) the way to most permanently influence a city was to plant churches in it. Once he had accomplished this in a city, he moved on. He knew that the rest that needed to happen would follow.
We provide the tools you need to help you grow at your own pace and move you toward the fulfillment of The Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) by helping you start an X Movement church within your sphere of influence. There are no costs, no contracts, and no pressure. All you need is a desire to know God better and reach your world for Christ, and we will meet you wherever you are on your journey.
If you are interested in taking the journey together, call our main number at 361-779-3707. Or, if you would like to communicate with Bob, you can email him at: bgomez@xmovement.net.
